Preparation Time : 10 to 15 mins
Cooking Time : 2 to 3 mins
Chilling Time : 1 hour
Serves : 2 to 3
Ingredients:
For Custard:
Custard Powder - 1.5 tblspn
Cold Milk - 3/4 cup
Sugar - 2 tblspn
Whipped Cream - 1 cup
Vanilla Essence - 1/2 tsp
For Strawberry Sauce:
Strawberry - 15
Sugar - 3 tblspn (reduce it if your berries are sweet)
Method:
Take strawberries and sugar in a blender and make it into a coarse puree. Set aside.
Take custard powder, milk in a sauce pan. Mix so it is dissolved without any lumps. Add in sugar and mix that too. Now heat it on low heat stirring continuosly so no lumps are formed.
Once it is thick, take it off the heat and mix well. Let it cool while you mix them now and then, so no lumps are formed.
Now take it in a bowl. Add in the strawberry sauce, reserve few tblspn of sauce for topping.
Add in vanilla and the whipped cream and fold gently.
Once it is well combined. Spoon this into individual bowls and chill it for a hour or so.
Before serving, spoon some of the strawberry sauce and top with fresh cut strawberries.
Serve cold.
Pictorial:
Start by making the whipped cream..cut open a packet of whipping cream, i used milkymist fresh cream |
pour it into a bowl |
The cream which you use should be cold |
now use a electric beater and start whipping |
whip baby whip.. |
it will get thick as you go on |
At one point you will see the cream getting thick like this, please stop whipping now..If you continue at this point, your whipped cream will split and you will get butter from it |
I whipped it till soft peaks.. |
Now measure and take all your ingredients |
Start by making the custard..take custard powder in a sauce pan |
add in milk |
Mix well, so no lumps are formed |
add in sugar |
mix again to dissolve the sugar.. |
Heat it on low heat so the custard is thick.. Remove this from fire and cool it |
Now take some chopped strawberries in a blender |
add in some sugar |
make it into a rough puree..i left it little chunky |
I just kept on stirring the custard now and then, so it cools faster plus they stay smooth without any lumps.. |
Pour the cooled custard into a bowl |
add the strawberry puree |
along with a dash of vanilla |
mix it through |
Now add in some of the whipped cream |
fold it gently |
all done |
take a serving glass |
fill with strawberry mousse |
chill it for a hour or so |
before serving, spoon over some of the strawberry sauce..I reserved few spoons of strawberry sauce when i blended it |
serve |
I topped it with some fresh cut strawberries |
enjoy |
so creamy |
