Hubby got turkey yesterday for christmas, i was first little scared to cook it because i have never ever made it before. But when i saw the meat, it looked like mutton. So i kind of treated like mutton and made a basic gravy. When i tasted it, it was so yummy.
I cooked the meat separately with few spices and salt. Because i wanted it to melt in my mouth. Then i added the cooked meat and stock to the masala which i made. This is a no coconut gravy so the thickness comes from the onion tomato masala which you make. I would suggest you to spend little more time and effort to get the masala perfect because it is what builds the curry base.
The spice powders plays a important role as well. I added some fennel seed powder because it gives a lovely aroma and sweet taste to the curry. There is no whole spices in this recipe, it is plain and simple. Will share another version of this curry which has coconut in it too..I made a turkey coconut varuval also, will share it soon..
Hope you will give this a try and let me know how it turned out for you..
