I love Kozhukattai, i make it quite often too. Among those this has become my latest favorite. I love to have it with spicy tomato chutney or coconut chutney
These kozhukattai are soft and perfect as breakfast or as snacks. I added some carrots in this, you can add any vegetable as you wish like beans, cabbage, capsicum..Love it to the core. So try this out and let me know how it turns out..
Preparation Time : 5 mins
Cooking Time : 25 to 30 mins
Serves : 2 to 3
Ingredients:
Rava / Sooji / Semolina - 1 cup
Onion - 1 medium chopped finely
Green Chilli - 3 chopped finely
Carrot - 1 large chopped finely
Water - 1 cup
For Seasoning:
Oil - 1 tblspn
Mustard Seeds / Kaduku - 1 tsp
Urad dal / Ulundu Paruppu - 1 tsp
Asafoetida / Hing / Kaya Podi - 1/4 tsp
Curry Leaves - 1 sprig
Method:
Heat oil in a kadai. Add in all seasoning ingredients and saute for a min.
Add in onions, chillies and saute for a min. Add in carrots and saute for 2 mins. Add in salt and mix well.
Add in sooji and saute for a min. Mean while boil 1 cup of water in a sauce pan.
Pour this water over the sooji and mix well Keep mixing till it forms into a mass.
Transfer it to a bowl and let it cool down. Once it is cooled, shapeinto small balls and place it in a steamer pot and steam it for 10 mins.
Now serve this any chutney.

place in a steamer plate |

place it on steaming pot |
cover and steam |
all steamed |
serve with any chutney |
