Guacamole Recipe / Avocado Dip Recipe / Mexican Guacamole Recipe


I never thought that i would be posting guacamole recipe in my blog. Because i have never seed avocado in my place. But few days back when we visited our local veg shop, i found these beauties, hubby told me that it is butter fruit and he has tasted it in ooty. I thought of giving it a try, so we picked couple of those. I searched about that in google and found that it is avocado. I posted a pic in my instagram and confirmed with my friends as well. But the avocados were hard, so i waited for 3 days to get it ripe. And yesterday i thought of making this and few more recipes. I really wanted to try this mexican recipe, because of my love for mexican foods..

To my surprise, it turned out so good. I loved it so much. I made this for lunch today, this is how i had it..I made some wheat tortillas and paneer jalfrezi as well. I took one, spread this all over it spooned some jalfrezi and rolled it and had it as a wrap. My goodness it was delicious..I am yet to make few more recipes using the remaining avocado..So stay tuned..


Preparation Time : 10 mins
Serves : 4 to 5

Ingredients:

Ripe Avocado - 1 large or 2 medium size
Onion - 1 medium size chopped very finely
Tomato - 1/2, seeds removed and chopped very finely
Green Chilli - 1 chopped finely
Coriander leaves - 4 tblspn finely chopped
Lemon Juice - 1 tblspn or to tase
Salt to taste
Pepper to taste

Method:

Cut open a avocado, scoop the flesh, mash it with a fork roughly. You have to keep the avacodos chunky.

Add in the remaining ingredients, mix well.

Serve with chips or tortilla.

First check whether it is ripe, press on the
 top part it should feel ripe..

remove the seed and reserve it , you need them

Now time to scoop

use a spoon to scoop the flesh

Tomatoes seeds shouldn't be used,

scoop the seeds

slice them in strips

chop them finely

Now take your other stuffs

Now take your scooped avocado

use a fork to mash it up

i like my guacamole to be chunky

add in salt and pepper

add some green chillies for a kick

add in chopped onions

and some coriander leaves

squeeze some lemon juice

mix well

add tomatoes

give a mix

now a trick to keep avocado fresh for so many hours
without it get black..make a dent in the center

place the seed in the center..I learned this trick
from a TV Show..

Serve..
