Radish Thoran Recipe / Mullangi Thoran Recipe


This is one of the delicious way to use radish. I use radish and make sambar, masala, paratha and raita.. This is another way of using that veggie. This taste so yummy, you dont get the raw weird smell of that in this recipe.

Preparation Time : 5 mins
Cooking Time : 15 to 20 mins
Serves : 2 to 3

Ingredients:

Radish - 1 
Coconut Oil - 1 tblspn
Mustard Seeds / Kaduku -  1 tsp
Urad dal / Ulundu Paruppu -  1 tsp
Cumin Seeds / Jeerakam - 1/2 tsp
Chilli Powder - 1 tsp
Cumin Powder / Jeera Podi - 1 tsp
Turmeric Powder / Manjal Podi - 1 tsp
Salt to taste
Fresh Coconut - 1/2 cup grated

Method:

Peel and grate radish. Set aside. Take coconut in a mixer and pulse it few times to get a coarse mix.

Heat oil in a kadai. Add in mustard, cumin and urad dal. Saute till golden.

Add in grated radish and salt. Saute for 8 to 10 mins till the radish is cooked.

Add in chilli, cumin and turmeric powder. Saute for 2 mins.

Add in coconut and toss well. Saute for 2 to 3 mins.

Serve.

take coconut in a mixer


grind it to a coarse mix


Heat oil in a kadai


add in mustard, urad dal and cumin seeds


let it crackle


add in grated radish


saute well


add in salt


cook till raw smell leaves and the radish is cooked


add in chilli powder, turmeric powder and
cumin powder


saute for a min


add in grated coconut


mix well
cook for few more mins


serve
