I have made a collection of ganesh chaturthi recipes in this blog, hope you check it out too..I have so many recipes in that. And this is a spicy version which i made using the ammini kozhukatai, I made a simple version of that as well a sweet version. Will share both soon..

Preparation Time : 10 mins
Resting Time : 30 mins
Cooking Time : 15 mins
Serves : 3 to 4
Ingredients:
For Dough:
Rice Flour / Arisi Mavu - 1 cup
Fresh Coconut - 1/2 cup grated
Salt - 1/2 tsp
Water - 1 3/4 cup
Oil - 1 tblspn
For Spice Powder:
Oil - 1 tsp
Chana Dal / Kadalai Paruppu - 1 tblspn
Urad dal / Ulundu Paruppu - 1 tblspn
Dry Red Chilli - 3
Kashmiri Red Chilli - 2
Whole Pepper - 1/2 tsp
Cumin Seeds / Jeerakam - 1/2 tsp
Fresh Coconut - 1/2 cup grated
For Seasoning:
Oil - 1 tsp
Mustard Seeds / Kaduku - 1 tsp
Urad dal / Ulundu Paruppu - 1 tsp
Curry Leaves a sprig
Method:
Bring water to a boil in a sauce pan. When it starts to boil, take it off the heat and add in salt and oil. Add in rice flour and mix well. It will get thick. Now cover it and let it cool down.
Once it is cooled, add in coconut and make small balls out of it. Place the balls in a oiled steaming plate and place it in steam and steam cook for 7 to 8 mins. Remove it and allow it to cool down.
Now make the spice powder. Take all the spice powder in a kadai along with oil. Roast till golden. Now add in coconut and toss well in the spices. Once it turn light golden. Take this in a blender and make it into a fine powder.
Heat oil in the kadai. Add in the tempering spices and saute it for a min.
Add in steamed kozhukattai and toss well.
Add in the spice powder and mix well.
Serve.

Take them in a kadai with 1 tsp of oil |
|
start roasting |
|
roast till golden |
|
add in grated coconut |
|
saute till golden |
|
add some salt |
|
mix well |
|
take it in a blender |
|
powder it finely |
|
heat oil in a kadai |
|
add in mustard, urad dal & curry leaves |
|
saute for a min |
|
add in the cooked balls |
|
toss well |
|
add in spice powder |
|
give a quick toss |
|
serve |
